From this page, download the course outlines and read them carefully to understand the course details.

2. Check the "Courses Registration" Section:

Visit the "Courses Registration" section to see if any courses are currently open for registration.

3. Add Your Name to the Waitlist:

If no courses are posted, it means that no courses are currently available for registration. In this case, add your name to the “Waitlist,” and someone will reach out to you when the courses become available. You will be given priority for registration, but please note that a spot in your preferred course is not guaranteed.

IIABC Course(s) Schedule

The IIABC offers courses twice a year, avoiding the busy summer season for the irrigation industry. The two terms are as follows:

  • Spring Term: February - April (Online and In-person, in different regions.)
  • Winter Term: November or December (In-person only, during Annual Conference)


Exam Rewrite Information

If you need to rewrite an exam, please note that the exam rewrite fee is $100 + GST. This applies to any course with an attached exam.

Advanced Turf Irrigation Design Course (ATID)

Course Description:
The Advanced Turf Irrigation Design workshop offers in-depth training in advanced irrigation design and management principles. This intensive one-day course focuses on equipping participants with the skills needed to create efficient and effective irrigation systems for turf applications. We highly recommend this course for those interested in taking any CID exams.  The information within this course is neither a prerequisite for the CID programs, nor is it a comprehensive instruction for the content of the CID tests.

Winter Term: Offered In-person only, based on demand.

Pre-requisite(s): No prerequisite needed to take this course.
Completion of the Fundamentals of Irrigation Design course or enrollment in a CID Exam with access to the textbook.

Certified Irrigation Scheduler (CIS)

Course Description:
The Certified Irrigation Scheduler (CIS) course focuses on equipping participants with the skills necessary to effectively schedule irrigation systems, ensuring optimal water use efficiency and minimal waste. This course combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications to enhance scheduling proficiency. 

Course offering schedule:

Spring Term: Offered “in season” months only, since we will utilize irrigation systems that are functioning for practical on-site assessments. 
Winter Term: Not-offered

Member $430 $150
Non-member $480 Not eligible to take the exam.

Pre-requisite(s): Certified Irrigation Technician - Level 1
While completion of CIT-1, CID, or CLIA certification is recommended for exam eligibility, participants may enroll in the CIS course without fulfilling these prerequisites. However, the exam itself requires meeting the prerequisite criteria.

Certified Irrigation Technician - Agriculture (CIT-Ag)

Course Description:
This specialized course focuses on equipping participants with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective irrigation system management in agricultural settings. Covering both theory and practical applications, this course is designed for individuals looking to enhance their proficiency in agricultural irrigation systems.

Pre-requisite(s): No prerequisite needed to take this course.
Completion of Certified Irrigation Technician - Level One (CIT Level 1) course and certification (pass grade of 75% or more) is recommended but not mandatory. Participants without CIT Level 1 certification can attend the course but are ineligible to take the CIT-Ag exam.

Certified Irrigation Technician - Level 1 (CIT Level 1)

Course Description:

Certified Irrigation Technician - Level 2 Landscape (CIT Level 2)

Course Description:
This intensive two-day course is designed to advance your knowledge and skills in installing and maintaining efficient irrigation systems. Building on the foundational knowledge from CIT Level 1, this course delves deeper into the complexities of irrigation systems, ensuring participants can effectively troubleshoot and manage advanced irrigation challenges.

Pre-requisite(s): Certified Irrigation Technician - Level 1
Completion of Certified Irrigation Technician - Level One (CIT Level 1) course and passing grade for CIT1 test is mandatory for this course. Attendees without CIT Level 1 test and passing grade may participate in the instructional sessions but are ineligible to take the CIT Level 2 exam.

Contractor Business Course (C-BUS)

Course Description:
